North Sea Jazz — the world's largest indoor jazz festival
The North Sea Jazz Festival has taken place in Rotterdam each July since its founding in 1976. In that time it has hosted virtually every significant name in jazz, blues, and soul: Miles Davis, B.B. King, Prince, Herbie Hancock, Cassandra Wilson, Marcus Miller. The current edition fills the Rotterdam Ahoy with fifteen simultaneous stages across three days — approximately 65,000 visitors per day, 150 performances, and a programme that ranges from mainstream jazz to avant-garde improvisation to soul and R&B crossover.
FFGR event access — what's available
FFGR Nederland's event access team works with the North Sea Jazz organisation to secure hospitality suite access for clients — the premium viewing positions with catered service that are allocated to the festival's principal sponsors and a small number of invited guests. For clients with specific artist interests, backstage access is facilitated through artist management contacts on a case-by-case basis — this is not guaranteed for every artist, but for established names who have performed at the festival over multiple years, our network typically provides a route.
The Rotterdam transfer programme
FFGR Nederland provides the Amsterdam–Rotterdam transfer for North Sea Jazz attendees: departure from Amsterdam at 18:00, arrival at the Ahoy by 19:15, return after the final set at approximately 01:00. For clients staying overnight in Rotterdam, we work with the Hotel New York and the Nhow Rotterdam for preferred rate access during the festival weekend, which sells out typically twelve to eighteen months in advance.
