The European Fine Art Fair at Maastricht is the world's pre-eminent art and antiques fair. FFGR Nederland's art advisory team provides reserved viewing access, dealer introductions, acquisition coordination, and discreet transport of purchases.
What TEFAF is — and why it matters
The European Fine Art Fair (TEFAF) in Maastricht is, by consensus of the international art market, the highest-quality art and antiques fair in the world. Its 270 exhibitors — galleries, dealers, and auction houses — are vetted by a committee of 170 specialists; any work with an attribution issue, a provenance gap, or a condition problem is removed before the fair opens. The result is a fair where you can buy a Rembrandt drawing, a Louis XV commode, a Giacometti sculpture, and a Mughal jewel with a confidence in authenticity that no other market context can match.
The FFGR TEFAF programme
FFGR Nederland's TEFAF programme begins three days before the fair opens to the public, with access to the Preview — the opening nights reserved for museum curators, major collectors, and dealers' best clients. Our art advisory team, working with a network of specialist advisers in Old Masters, Impressionism, Design, and Jewels, provides clients with a briefing on the key works at the fair, their estimated market values, and any provenance considerations. On acquisition: FFGR manages the dealer negotiation, the export permit application if required, the packing and insurance arrangement, and the transport to the client's collection.
What FFGR coordinates
- Preview access: opening night invitations through gallery and museum relationships
- Specialist adviser: one dedicated art adviser per client group, briefed on collection and interests
- Acquisition support: negotiation assistance, provenance research, condition report review
- Export permits: CITES and EU export documentation managed for works requiring it

- Transport: white-glove art transport from Maastricht to any European destination, or international by air freight

FFGR transports clients from Amsterdam to Maastricht in a Rolls-Royce Ghost or Maybach S 680 — a 2h20 journey via the A2. Return transfers are scheduled flexibly around the fair programme. For clients traveling from further afield, we coordinate private aviation to Maastricht Aachen Airport and ground transfer to the MECC exhibition centre, where TEFAF is held.
